Mynd House Guest House lies at the foot of the Long Mynd in the unspoilt village of Little Stretton. An Edwardian house built at the turn of the century, it provides 7 spacious en-suite bedrooms with stunning views of the surrounding Shropshire hills. We offer a range of Guest House accommodation options to cater for singles, couples, families or small groups of friends. For a romantic getaway we have a suite with a 4 poster bed, a spa bath built for two and a separate sitting area. Our family room has a king sized bed in one room and twin beds in a connecting room with space for a small fold away guest bed for a third child if necessary, making it ideal for families with younger or older children. Wireless broadband internet access is available.
There is much to do in and around Little Stretton. Start the day with a walk straight from our doorstep. Ashes Hollow, a valley rising steadily up to the top of the Long Mynd and arguably the best walk in these parts, begins just behind the village returning via Minton or Cardingmill Valley and Church Stretton. Just a short walk up Ragleth hill will bring you to breathtaking views of Wenlock Edge stretching into the distance. Caer Caradoc with its remains of an iron age fort offers views as far as Wolverhampton on a clear day. Only a short drive away the Stiperstones with remnants of the lead mining carried out since Roman Times still visible today. Or visit Offa's Dyke.Walking not for you! Then why not try horse riding on the Long Mynd or cycling. Take to the skies with an introductory gliding course at the Midlands Gliding Club on the top of Long Mynd or take a ride in a hot air balloon. Maybe a game of golf on one of the highest (and steepest) golf courses in England right here in Church Stretton. We are centrally located for many places of interest such as the World Heritage site of Ironbridge, with its numerous museums and Blists Hill a Victorian working village. Medieval Market towns, castles, abbeys gardens, vineyards and working farms, there is so much to do and see in this unspoilt corner of the country.
A large storage area is available with space to hang wet clothes (to dry off overnight) and muddy boots, etc. and provides secure storage for bicycles. We also have an outside tap and hose for cleaning your equipment. In addition to these facilities we have an extensive collection of book and maps with a range of walk and cycle routes, from short village walks to the more strenuous and adventurous.
After an event filled and exhausting day, why not relax in our cosy lounge, take a seat in front of the log burning stove and perhaps have a drink from the licensed bar to round off the evening, why not try a local Shropshire beer. Evening meals for groups may be available by arrangement. There is also a good selection of restaurants and pubs, all within reasonable distance, which we are happy to book for you.
